For those who don’t know: to become a Centurion, you must walk 100 miles (or more) within a 24 hour period at a sanctioned race. Sanctioned races have judged to ensure that walkers are really walking 100 percent of the time.

I note that at least two of these gentlemen (David and Rob) are over 50 years old.

The race was held just outside of Minneapolis, MN, this past weekend.

Workout notes
Yesterday, my “long” walk (can’t say “long” with a straight face) was 14 mile “Boredom” course from my house; it took 3:45 to do (slightly faster than 16 minute miles). Perfect weather, and yeah, it was reasonably easy.
This morning (weight: 201.6…better do something about that), 2 mile walk after a weight workout: usual pt, pull ups (3 sets of 5-5, 2 sets of 10), bench: 10 x 135, 4 x 185, incline: 10 x 140, decline: 7 x 170, military: 1 x 50 (didn’t feel right), 10 x 45, 10 x 50, 10 x 45, rows: 3 sets of 10 x 200, usual abs (2:30 plank sucked), oh yes, squats: 2 sets of 10 x 25, 10 x 45.

Then an easy walk.

Not feeling quite right.

Commentary: needless to say, I am not in shape. But rushing to get in shape isn’t a good idea. I need to take my time, and THEN decide which event to target. The 14 miler did encourage me.
