Liberal: ok, you are angry. But guess what: No. One. Cares.

Ok, maybe this isn’t exactly accurate. If you live in a Congressional district that is represented by a Democrat or if your Senators (or one of them) are Democrats..they might, especially if they have a primary election to worry about.

And yeah, I understand venting to friends; I do that all of the time. And your friends and loved ones probably care.

But Republicans do not care at all…or wait…they might even delight in your anger.

But think about it: in general, the world cares about you to the extent that it can get something out of you.

Yeah, you might be able to, say, jam things up by blocking a highway..but wow, that worked didn’t it? Those primary/election Trump protests worked really well didn’t they? BLM disruptions? Great..now we have a neo-confederate as an Attorney General. How is THAT for improving things?

Bottom line: if you are one of those who doesn’t have money to spend, why should a company care about you or what you think?
If you aren’t someone’s boss: why would they care about what you think?

So go ahead an rant your heart out.

But if you have nothing worth having to offer, no one (aside from a few loved ones and friends) is going to care what you think.

If we don’t win Congress (or at least one chamber in 2018)…or at least drive Trump to quit the presidency….all for nothing.

Workout notes: easy 5K in West Peoria before a loooooong graduation ceremony. Ugh. At least there is the ballgame tonight.

Trump, Comey, and all the rest…

(from Real Clear Politics) President Obama was in the high 50’s, low 60’s by comparison.

So, what does this mean? (note: the numbers were taken mostly before the Comey firing)

This is probably very cynical of me, but Trump’s presidency really isn’t in peril until the Republican Congress turns against him, and Trump isn’t at Nixon levels of disapproval as yet, at least among Republicans.

And Trump is angering liberals, which, well, is a big part of modern Republican politics. It is the old: “if he makes liberals angry, he must be doing something right” sort of thing.

As far as firing Comey: THAT, in and of itself doesn’t bother me. What bothers me is that he appeared to fire Comey either in retaliation for, or to hinder an FBI investigation into Russian involvement with our election, and as to whether the Trump campaign coordinated with the Russians. That Russia interfered (via hacking the DNC, release of fake news, fake accounts, etc.) is beyond question. The issue is “did they interfere with the help of the Trump campaign, or was there any collusion?. And THAT, is very troubling. I hope the Republicans realize that President Trump could potentially turn on any one of them at a given moment.

But, sadly, the problem remains political rather than ethical.

Catch up…workouts, finals, etc.

Got my final grades turned in; graduation exercises tomorrow. I had better read the instructions.

This post is merely a workout catch-up:

Wednesday evening: exercise class (already recorded the weight workout)
Thursday morning: 4 mile run on the treadmill: 43:44. 11 minute first mile; I was going to try to do 2 miles hard and settled for 3 minutes at 6.7, 3 minute walk recovery until 4 miles was up. The last hard interval was 44 seconds longer; I have to remember that in effort, this was a lot like by 6 x 800 meter workouts of yesteryear in terms of time duration, effort and recoveries.

Thursday evening: with the group; they did 5K (I got 48:20) and I did circling plus an extra from Tower Park to get 4 miles.

Friday morning: weights only; rotator cuff, pull ups (5 sets of 10: went well), bench: 10 x 135, 4 x 185, 8 x 170, military: 20 x 50 seated, supported, 2 sets of 10 x 45 (dumbbells, I used 2 50 lb. dumbbells for the first set, then 2 45s), Hammer rows: 3 sets of 10 x 200, abs: 2 sets of 12 twist crunch, 10 leg lifts, 10 moving bridge, and then head stand.

Friday afternoon: 2 mile walk with Barbara (39:08; she did 20:10 out, and just under 19 back as she got warmed up.
