Platelet donation

This summer, I decided to try donating platelets instead of whole blood. I might do that again in a month or so, as the process is time consuming. I’ll do whole blood after my fall marathon and again during the winter.

Differences: in my donation, they used two needles (one to return, one to take out) and the “return” arm ached a bit during the donation process. The techs checked it out; no bruising or swelling. But it was not comfortable (not intense pain; just a dull ache). The “out arm” felt fine; no trouble at all.
