Race for the cure bust but…

racecureresults

houseraceforthecure

Up early; left the house at 6:04 am. Tower at 7:10. Did one lap around the ND track; ended up with 8.5 miles prior to the race (11:20-11:30’ish miles)
5K: 8:46, 17:14 at 2, 10:17 for 27:32, my worst Race for the Cure time as a runner. But…it was slightly warm, and there was the 8.5 mile workout prior.
Then I walked home almost the same way (no track lap) but then added a Cooper/Moss/Institute/Ayers loop to make it 9.3 on the way home, so I ended with 20.9 miles at 10:57 am.
Roughly: 4:53 “by the day” time for 21 miles, and that included some before and after the race milling about.

And I got a hug from Crystal …how much more does one want?

Note: I did a similar run 3 years ago and ran much faster, though for this one, I had a break between my long run and the race.
