Should I quit my job and pursue my dream?

Workout notes weight: 181.5 after swimming. 10 x 100 on the 2:10 to 2:05, then 8 x (25 fly, 75 free) on 2:10. Then 200 in 3:27, 100 back, 100 side.

Good news: A Canadian Football League team is offering tryouts in my area:

The Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League will stage a prospect tryout camp at Washington High School’s Babcook Field on Saturday.
Edmonton executive director of player personnel Paul Jones will be joined by several pro team scouts to operate the tryouts.
Pre-registration is at 10 a.m., and fee is $100 (cash only). Tryouts begin at 11 a.m. on the field.
It’s a no-contact tryout; candidates should wear shorts and turf shoes. The Eskimos will put prospects through standard measurables, starting with 40-yard dash, and then break into position groups for individual position drills.

So, should I cash a check this afternoon and go try out tomorrow morning? Or should I plan on a run and a weight lifting session instead. Decisions, decisions.

You know, I could try out and try to get the government to see “no athletic ability, at all” as a type of protected class that I can obtain accommodation for.

  1. $100 is about what it costs to enter a large race, and it’s far cheaper than concert tickets. If it would be a fun experience, you should go for it.
