Injury note A little bit of shoulder ache last night; way down from the night before.

Workout notes Cool (low 50’s), overcast but dry. I powerwalked a 5K: I did a warm up, (1.4 miles or so), 5K race in 30:38 (9:42 down hill, 9:53, (19:36), 11:01 last 1.1). No way I was legal; right knee was bent to protect it a bit; form was very ragged. At least I looked like I was walking; that’s about it. I chased people but got caught toward the end.

But there were only 3 males in 50-54 so, for the second time, I got a medal by “walking” a race. The course was on Grandview drive and featured some hills:

Afterward: some heaviness in the right knee; nothing serious. I just need to smooth out my technique so as to have any chance of training for a marathon successfully.

I had fun though, and they offered a pizza and salad breakfast afterward, which Tracy and I took advantage of.
