Training Question….decisions ….

Tomorrow will be cold (by our standards; about 10 F or -12 C). The footing outdoors will be good. But my training plan is to run a total of 10 miles at a pace “somewhat similar” to a marathon race pace.

So: indoors on the track for 7-8 miles followed by a couple of treadmill miles?
What’s good: I’ll have a better chance at maintaining the proper pace and I won’t have a mountain of sweaty gear afterward.
What’s bad: boring (by comparison)

Outdoors: E. Peoria trail or a neighborhood course.
What’s good: more interesting and the terrain will be similar to what the marathon is being run on.
What’s bad: lots of sweaty gear, and I will be slower with the same effort. The first 1-2 miles won’t be pleasant.

We’ll see: we’ll get ‘er done one way or another.
