-2 F Workout

histgraphall2

Yep, it was -2 F with wind gusts up to 35 mph. Nevertheless, it was sunny and so I went outside and did laps in upper Bradley Park; the grass was covered in ankle deep (at least) snow with a hard, crunchy crust. I wore hiking boots and these “ice gripper” things (hex nut type cleats)

So I did 4.5 laps of a 1.1 mile loop; in normal conditions (dry grass) it takes me 10:30-11 minutes per loop. Today it took me 16-16:30; actually I was overdressed and sweated quite a bit. Total was just over 5 miles when you count the there and back.
It wasn’t really a run, nor was it a true walk….not sure as to what to call it. :)

I was a mess when I got home:

Then I “ran” 3 treadmill miles (31 minutes at various inclines) and walked 3 more in 37 to get 11 for the day; the 3 mile run on semi-tired legs gave me some conditioning.
