A couple of quick comments

Photos and blogs: someone complained about my using photos from a rally I attended. So, I took them down and looked up the rules.

I found guides here (US government) here and here.

To be honest I’ve never paid much attention since I usually link to the site where the photograph came from and I didn’t think that I was reducing anyone’s ability to earn money; I see this site as a scrapbook that I keep for friends. I could argue that I am sending some traffic their way but this blog has such low traffic that this is not much of a factor.

But this site is accessible to the public and it is possible that someone could do a search and end up at my site instead of the site of the person who paid the money and did the hard work to make the original photo/article, etc.

So I’ll comply even if I have zero worries about being sued (you can’t get money from someone who has none!)

But my use did bother someone so I’ll be more careful in the future; I’ll link to galleries of interest and post embeddable videos.

Politics The Jed Report has an amusing list of Republicans who have expressed disenchantment with the McCain campaign. Note that several of his examples (LaHood, Rollins) have said that they are still voting for the McCain-Palin ticket.
