Lazy Morning…
Nothing long or serious today. The pools are closed so I’ll so some easy “pleasure” racewalking.
Politics Here is a comprehensive snapshot of the race (from several sources)
Jed Report blog: there is a ton of interesting stuff here.
Football Last night, I watched the end of the Rice vs. SMU football game; it was 35-20 Rice when I picked it up and 56-27 (which is how it ended) when I finally went to bed (with 2 minutes to go). SMU kept throwing interceptions; evidently June Jame’s offense takes a while to get used to.

Go Rice Owls!!! I love my school
One interesting observation that a visitor to Rice once told me was that he could not find any students on campus. The school has a fairly big plot of land in the middle of prime Houston real estate yet it was difficult to find students “hanging out” in a specific area. For a school with such a low undergrad population (about 3,000), it is amazing that the school still wins some football games against Division 1 opponents.
Rice? Yeah, I was accepted there but ended up going to Annapolis instead (like you-know-who).
The campus was very widespread and didn’t have people just hanging out in the quad the way that UT-Austin did (where I got my grad degree)
