NBC Olympic Coverage: Abysmal

I had hoped to watch some Olympic events but unfortunately the only channel that is carrying them is NBC with their prime time coverage. :(

So this means 10 minutes of athletics for every 20-30 minutes of fluff. Right now these idiots are talking about acupuncture.

  1. I agree that there is WAY too much fluff. However, it seems to me that there is less fluff that in 2004.

  2. NBC coverage is abysmal, I call England to find out what is happening, no sailing, no rowing, no track ,no gymnasts,- only volleyball, horse riding, soccer, hockey, badminton, fencing, synchronized diving, and michael phelps and his mother, the guy is fantastic, but how about showing some other world class athletes, god forbid some of them are not even americans oops!!!!!!!!!

  3. Wow..here the Olympics are carried on several channels, owned by NBC of course but some offer action with limited breaks and no fluff such as volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc. They are MSNBC, USA, Oxygen, and sometimes CNBC [your boxing] so you get a lot of coverage. All the information about the results can be found at NBC online and Google news has a good feed too. Even found coverage on the non-glamor bits of T&F like Hammer Throw.

  4. We get the same; what I am being critical of is the “prime time” coverage which features the big track and field events.

I’d rather see another event than to see some little puff piece of someone trying a fried scorpion on a stick. :)
