One quick comment about training

Olivia and I went for a 10 mile bike ride this afternoon. The course itself is nothing special.

This was our third ride of the month. Early in the ride, I found myself actually having to pay attention to stay ahead of her; no we weren’t racing but we usually ride single file with me as point. During the first two rides I’d go out at what I thought was a relaxed pace only to find myself getting way too far ahead.

Today, my unintentionally getting ahead wasn’t too much of a problem.

The point: my daughter is at an age where she improves with each workout, whereas I am at an age that my workouts merely slow my rate of deterioration. :)

One other note: in this morning’s 17 mile walk, I saw Jeffry Neltner out in Peoria Heights. When I got to Moss, there he was again; he did 16 running miles on his own and then 3 with his daughter.

I also saw Jim McIntyre out running in the morning; we saw him riding on the bike trail this afternoon.

Small town. :)
