Some Thursday Humor: Clayton Bigsby, Preacher Moss, Bus Boys

This evening I went to see Preacher Moss at Bradley University.

This is one of his acts:

I enjoyed it. This evening, he mostly talked about racism.

Speaking of which, a photo which I recently posted (a dark skinned guy wearing a shirt with a hooked cross, aka swastika, on it. That reminded me of a David Chapelle act: Clayton Bigsby.

It also reminded me of a mostly African American rock band called the Busboys. Back in the early 1980’s, they played in the Frank Erwin Center (on the campus of the University of Texas, Austin) and they opened for Linda Ronstadt.

They played one song that had a line which said something about “wanting to join the Ku Klux Klan”; when that line came up, small signs in the form of a KKK hood came up from the stage.

I thought that it was funny; it turns out that the song is in fact named KKK; you can listen to the short song here:

Bus Boys – KKK

(the idea is that rock music, at that time, was reluctant to accept black bands)
