Congratulations Clinton Supporters!

First, a video of my sister explaining her vote.

I know, I know, we didn’t do a good enough job explaining that O not providing MANDATES is not the same as “leaving people uncovered”.

One other note: true, I thought that S. H. had some WMD’s there, but I was completely against the invasion from the start, and I thought that GWB was lying when he gave the “go to war” pitch during the 2003 STOU address. I wanted more aggressive inspections, NOT an invasion and I said so at that time. I was against this war from the start.

But back to my larger point: my most recent Daily Kos Diary:, which I’ve reproduced here. Note: I’ve used some photos that have appeared in this blog before.

Of course last night didn’t go as I had hoped (I am a strong Obama supporter); I was thinking that Obama would split the states (winning Texas narrowly).

The reality is that Clinton did chop off perhaps 10-15 pledged delegates out of Obama’s lead.

Regardless of how this turns out: let us remember that some of our friends and family worked their tails off to make this happen

(more below the fold)

My Texas family was heavily pro-Clinton and for the first time in their lives they got involved; I detailed some of it here:

Here is my 81 year old mom (fluent in Spanish) staffing the phones:

My sister with her signs

My great niece.

They were excited and did what many of us did: they held signs, phonebanked and worked canvasses.

So, regardless of what may have been said by the top of the campaign, let us remember that many of the rank and file really did it the clean, hard way, and let us congratulate them today.

Of course, the delegate allocation in Texas still has to be finalized; you’ll get some good information here: Burnt Orange Report.

Including a spreadsheet which allocated the delegates by State Senate District.

Which it appears that HRC won the primary delegates 63-62, but it is looking ok in the caucuses (with about 1/3 of the caucuses counted so far)

Hey, HRC said she was “just getting warmed up” right?

Well, so are we (and so is my cell phone).

I’ve already done some phonebanking to Wyoming (a week or so ago) and will get fired up to do even more!

Update: here I am during a 30K (18.6 mile) race which I powerwalked while wearing an Obama shirt. This was in Austin; O carried this region convincingly (63-37)
