Christians talking about what is important to them and to God's heart IS changing things. Christians are not perfect. We will judge and make comments about what we feel is not right. You are right. We should do more than just talk about things that we disagree with. What I don't understand is how Americans can support a president who quickly changed protections Bush made for unborn life. I also don't understand how there can be support for Obama when he wants government to have control over the auto industry, banks and healthcare. Wake up, everyone. Do we really want the government to have so much control of our lives? Do we see any signs of socialism here?

I AM AMAZED AT THE GREAT THINGS OBAMA HAS DONE ALREADY SO MANY ARE SO QUICK TO PUT HIM DOWN BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO ONLY SEE THE NEGATIVE.
THE SHORT TIME BUSH WAS IN OFFICE AT FIRST EVERYBODY ALL REPUBLICANS WERE SAYING GIVE HIM TIME, GIVE HIM TIME FUNNY HOW THEY CAN'T SEEM TO DO THAT NOW.
HOW QUICK THE ONES WHO CLAIM TO BE "CHRISTIANS" SIT BACK AND JUDGE AND DO NOTHING TO CHANGE THINGS
OR LOOK FOR THE GOOD

um look at bill number 37...That is absolute and complete bullcrap. why should they get treatment for being low income? thats somethign they need to deal with themselfs work hard and earn he money themselfs to get into college its not our own responsibilitie to insure they get the education needed.
and if any of you know the gov is trying to make it so illegal aliens get reduced college intuition. so lets just reward them for breaking the law. that seems resonable, oh and lets have me pay it. this country is becoming spinless weak, and personally i think we are becoming a pothetic excuse of a country.
and the global warming issue, how about u research the cold hard facts. The gov is just finding a new way to make tons and tons of money. look it up and you will see that they are just trying to scam you.
we need to pick ourselfs up as a country...

Ollie's comment: I can't tell if this is a "poe" comment or not; the author of this post managed to make an astonishing number of spelling and grammatical errors in a short span. Then again, given our conservative base, he/she probably fits right in. :-)

RE: Richard's comment

"Look at McCain he has been in the senate alot longer and has about a third of the bills"

That is a very misleading statement, obama does sponsor more bills per year than mccain but he does not have a total of about a third of mccain's bills. Common sense should tell you that Mccain has sponsored more bills because he's been a senator since the 80s, you can check the numbers at govtrack.us. You are referring to the number of bills that they cosponsor per year (annual rate), not the number of bills they "have" (career total). In that sense obama does cosponsor about 3x as many bills per year but mccain of course still has a higher total of about 1232 to obama's 659.

And I'm not saying that this means obama is wasting time, there are lots of factors to consider because I don't know whether junior senators tend to sponsor more bills than senior senators. Also you can probably adjust mccain's number for the drop in production during his first presidential run.

Which brings me to one point thats been eating away at me, why are republicans touting mccain (whom I admire very much btw) as the greatest thing since sliced bread when they chose GWB over him in 2000? He had pretty much the same impressive resume then. I suspect that a lot of republicans still don't really like him because of his centrist politics and are only supporting this ticket because his military background bodes well for the election, hence the excitement over a vp pick that republicans are actually excited about. I thought it was a little sad to watch the old soldier's speech because it felt like most of the audience was really applauding his palin pick and not his own policies and vision.
