Hawaii and Wisconsin

Workout notes Rest. Still have that bug; my body feels sore.

Elections Wisconsin ended up 58-41 Obama. But there is a more telling number:

Obama 645,554 58%
Clinton 452,590 41%

McCain 224,122 55%
Huckabee 151,114 37%
Paul 19,129 5%
Romney 8,083

Hillary Clinton got over 50,000 more votes than all of the Republicans, combined.

Obama won the Hawaii caucuses 76-24 getting 28,000 votes to 9000 for Clinton. That wasn’t too much of a surprise, given that he has some personal ties there.

There are some interesting articles about the speeches including Clinton’s here. There is some snipping:

Three times may make a trend: for the third primary/caucus night in a row, Hillary Clinton has taken the stage at a post-election rally and failed to mention her losses, or congratulate her winning opponent, Barack Obama.

She spent Tuesday night at a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, looking ahead to the primary there on March 4. She made no mention of Wisconsin. [...]Acknowledging your losses isn’t required in politics, though it is a courtesy that’s been practiced for decades.

Then again: it’s also been traditional for candidates to delay their remarks to avoid overlapping with their opponents’ speeches. Obama began his victory speech in Texas Tuesday while Hillary Clinton was still addressing the crowd in Ohio — and most of the networks cut away from her event mid-speech. (Granted, she had begun speaking after the expected start time.)

They did talk privately afterward.

Obama’s speech (24 minutes)

They didn’t have HRC’s speech at her website, but they did show this commercial, which is a good one.

  2. Sorry, but I really don’t give any credence to some of the wilder accusations. I do think that her campaign is poorly run, but most of these wild accusations stem from something called the Arkansas Project.

A good reference: The Hunting of the President.
