Slush Pile

Workout notes 2200 yard swim (500 warm up, 10 x 50 (drill/swim) with fins), then 5 x (100 paddle, 100 fly/free/fly/free), then 4 x (25 side, 25 free). Then, 12.5 mile bike followed by yoga on my own.

Personal The weather was absurd. Last evening, we had snow plus thunder and lightning; a ton of lightning. It was just under 30 F (-1 C) and the snow was coming down in buckets; we ended up with a couple inches of the soggy white stuff. But then in the morning, the temperature got up to close to 50 F (14 C) and so much of the accumulated snow started to melt. Hence the roads, what passed for sidewalks and just about everything else was a giant slush pile with deep pools of water just about everywhere; there was no place for the water to drain as most of the low lying drains were clogged with snow. Yuck!!!!

Social: One aspect of life in America via the eyes of an African American Man. It is worth a read if you want to see things through perhaps a different point of view; I say this because most of the people who have told me that they read this blog from time to time aren’t African American.

Hillary Clinton: gets a kick out of hearing that Ann Coulter endorsed her. Note that her eyes are watering; she has a bit of a cold (or a reaction to allergies?) Hence, today’s “teary-eyed” incident was probably nothing at all…though it may have “been something to sneeze at”.

Barack Obama has made substantial gains among Democratic voters nationwide; on the eve of the Iowa caucuses just 26% of Democrats supported him, compared with 38% today. Meanwhile, the share backing Hillary Clinton has not changed – 46% of Democrats supported her on the eve of the Iowa caucuses, and 46% support her today.
