Quickie at McNaughton

As I said earlier, I worked the IVS Half-Marathon race. After eating lunch with my wife, I took in a 10 mile McNaughton loop (all walking); 2:56. I made an effort to keep moving “deliberately” but I didn’t really push the pace. Nevertheless, it was 13 minutes faster than last time, which is a good sign, and I finished feeling chipper.

So, I AM starting to get a bit fitter, though I have a long way to go. I really need to be able to finish a couple of these in 2:40 each, and still feel good afterward.

Wildlife: I didn’t see ANYONE on the trail until I hit the frisbee golf course. I did see lots of deer though. The “major” creek crossings were all but dry, though there were a couple of new streams (small ones) coming off of the bluff where golf hill is.

  1. It sounds like a nice place to walk. I am in the process of getting fit also.

  2. It is a nice place to walk, unless it is muddy. Then it is still fun, but oh is it slow, tiring and slippery! :)
