Ultra: Julie Berg reports finishing a 100 mile trail race (Superior Sawtooth) that she DNF’ed the year before. Keep in mind that Julie has gone as far as 116 miles in a 24 hour race and has run the tought McNaughton 100 in 27:36. What I like about her report was how she talked about the DNF, how she dealt with it, and how she made the necessary but difficult changes in her training in order to meet her goal. It isn’t as if the course got easier, or that she didn’t get sore, beat up and tired the second time. But, for her second try, she went in with the strength necessary for success. I need to take this lesson to heart.

Race report: Running With Passion has yet another photo essay of a 10K in Kuala, Lumpur. You’ll see photos of interesting sights from the race course, including a mother monkey with her baby and the famous KLCC Twin Towers.

From the Friendly Atheist: a nice post about Pete Stark, a Unitarian humanist and the only admitted non-theist to be serving in Congress.

(above image hotlinked from the Friendly Atheist site; note that my blog doesn’t generate much traffic, hence no bandwidth problems. :) )

Here is another post; this one is about the results that ask “would you be less likely to vote for a candidate who was, e. g., black, a woman, a Mormon, an Evangelical Christian, etc. Atheists “win” with 61%! Oh wait…that’s not good. :)
