July Video Sunday

All of these are about 1-3 mintues, unless otherwise stated.

End of lecture 2 of Growing Up in the Universe by Richard Dawkins. I love how he closes the deal. This takes about 10 minutes.

Hmm; hasn’t this woman heard of e-bay? She is cute, but not the sharpest knife in the drawer. ;)

I’ve always wanted to do this. ;)

From the movie “Young Frankenstien” : Puttin’ on the Ritz! I still laugh uncontrollably at this one!

Hitler on Ice! (History of the World, Part I)

It’s Good to be da King! (above movie)

Redstate update: answers questions. This takes about 10 minutes.

Warm Sunday

Workout Notes
20 mile (plus) walk; basically I walked to the “Boredom” course (just over a mile to the start) and did the first 9 miles of the course.

Of course, there is nothing “Boring” about the Boredom course; it features tree lined neighborhoods and a nice stretch along Grandview Drive:

(photos from here)

I then took the next 10 miles along the Rivertrail, gooseloop, the street to the post office, Kumpf, then back home plus a 3 mile Bradley neighborhood loop.

Yes, I got one half-hearted dive-bombing from a redwinged blackbird. :(

Along the way, I saw many IVS members, and I saw Bob and Fran on their bicycles.

Other blogs

Professor Moran: wonders exactly why socialized medicine will lead to terrorism? Note: in the United States, Fox News is considered more or less a Republican Party 24 hour “info-mercial” channel. ;)

Ultrarunner Julie Berg: fun water photos.

Triathlete “Crackhead”: wants feedback on her bike position. She makes the comment:

When the entire camp began riding today, I led everyone away from John Nolen Drive. I was a bit surprised that I was the chosen leader, but I was told later by a woman that since I was wearing “almost a thong” that it was only natural that I should be the leader, and so I was.

;)

Do you like Women’s Professional Beach Volleyball? Let me reprhase that: do you see Professional Women’s Beach Volleyball as a series of “lean forward with bent knees, jump and roll in the sand, an exchange of butt-slaps followed by a timely “swimsuit adjustment”? ;) If so, this blog is for you.

PS; yes, I know that these women are great athletes, but their uniforms are hardly designed for, ahem, comfort.
